I am particularly motivated by the mission of the Hunger Project, above all to promote women in their own responsibility and self-determination and thus to reduce hunger and poverty. "After 44 years as a teacher (the last 24 years in your own school) you can't just stop working, and you also want to "give something back". If necessary, I write translations for the Hunger project on the computer. Sometimes I help with my wife Beatrice at THP booth events at market events. On these and other occasions we have always met interesting and committed people. What particularly impresses me about the Hunger project is how much can be achieved with little money if people on the ground are trained to help themselves and if women in particular are promoted and supported." "As my father was a member of the THP before I was born, I could become a part of THP from an early age. It inspires me to see when people can broaden their horizons because THP shows people how they can develop themselves. In short: THP does not give the fish, but the fishing rod. It's just nice to know that you can help people who don't have the same opportunities as me, but who would like to have those opportunities. People can do a lot of things with little resources.
